Mac OS X Snow Leopard Lexmark X1150

The only way I know of to get the Lexmark X1150 to work in Snow Leopard, is to use Parallels, vmware probably works too. I had trouble getting the software installed, I uninstalled parallels tools, and then tried installing the driver for printer again. It was working very slowly, ended up force quitting it, but it must of installed just the driver. The scanner works using the built in windows scanning thing. I guess an easier way would be to tell windows to look for the driver in the folder, that the software is extracted to. I don’t use the printer part, have a laser printer for that. I have an old version of parallels, so maybe the latest version doesn’t have that problem. I also tried TWAIN SANE for OS X, but that didn’t really work. The Lexmark X1150 isn’t supported with sane, on the supported devices page it says “good”. The preview worked for me, but it when trying to save it, the file was blank.

Another solution would be to buy a new scanner or printer. For the heck of it, I’m going to email lexmark, and request a driver for Snow Leopard, don’t care about their software. As long as their driver works with Image Capture, I don’t need their software. They have a driver for Windows Vista for that printer/scanner..

Update
Parallels shows two USB devices for the Lexmark X1150, if you have them both set for the virtual machine, then the driver software should install right. If your mouse isn’t working in windows xp virtual machine after rebooting, turn printer off and unplug it, then plug it back in. That worked for me.
