Sabayon linux 3.4f works on the mini, not right away though. When you boot the live dvd, you will probably notice a gray screen with just a cursor. To fix that click ctrl alt f1 and then type killall kdm, and then type ctrl alt f1 again, and type gdm.

To get sound you can try the below:
Go to the Control Center, and go to Sound System under Sound and Multimedia, and click hardware, and change the Audio device from auto detect to open sound system. Then click apply, and then open a terminal and type “sudo /etc/init.d/alsasound restart”. After that click General under Sound System and uncheck Enable Sound System, and then check it, and then click apply, that should restart it. Then open kmix, and right click on the sound system and unmute it, and double click it, so it opens, and click the circle above “front” and “surround”, so they change green. Then click the test button in Sound System.

Not only does the upgrade uninstall everything that you installed, it also breaks games, and anything else that needs libGL.so.1.

To fix it run the below commands as root.

layman -s sabayon
emerge sync
emerge nvidia-drivers #change nvidia-drivers to ati-drivers if you have a ati card

For some reason the newest version of sabayon linux doesn’t open executable programs when you click them, with the permissions correct of course. So a simple fix is to right click the file, and click properties, and click the thing by type, click add and put in $1.

Do the following in a terminal:

su
emerge --sync
emerge emul-linux-x86-soundlibs
emerge netscape-flash
emerge nspluginwrapper

Reboot your computer after doing the above.
Note: the first time you try and play a flash file there will be no sound, so close firefox and try again. It should work the second try.
