Would be happier without internet

July 25th, 2009 admin Comments off

Talking to people online, isn’t the same as talking to somebody in real life. It is easy to lie on the internet, then again it’s easy to lie in person to, at least to a dumbass. Texting on a cell phone isn’t worth using either. Should see if I can block all texting on my phone, I don’t want to read em, or type to anybody. No point in wasting my time anymore, would enjoy watching tv all day, then talking to morons on the internet, or texting morons.

This post is based on my experience of wasting many years on the internet.

Now have a good day, assholes, and bitches.

Maybe USB wireless N Adapter is freezing mac

July 16th, 2009 admin Comments off

Looking at Console, to look for any error’s that could be causing mac to freeze, still haven’t found much on google or in Console. All errors around time it froze below. Maybe somebody who is having same problem will find this and provide fix, I’m to stupid to fix it.

Update
Searched google for “npvhash=4095″, and found this post, and one person says it was a font problem for them. I did have some minor font problems, deleted em, to damn lazy to go search for em and disable em. Only thing it lets you do automatically is remove them, so I removed them, should empty trash. Have time machine back, so no biggie. Other problem could be my external drive, it makes some weird noises sometimes. Really need to wait till next month before buying new external drive. Will suck if it dies before next month.

Update
Getting some weird errors, no idea what they are.

Damn SweetFM is nice

July 16th, 2009 admin Comments off

Think I knew you could stream music on last.fm, but don’t like using web browser to stream, SweetFM can stream radio stations from last.fm. It also has a nice export feature that I still haven’t tried. Oh yeah and its open source now. All those who paid for it got ripped off, you should ask for your money back. Oh yeah it’s mac only, to bad windows morons. Probably plenty of free/open source apps that do the same thing for linux… I rather buy music on amazon anyways, then I can run out of money faster, damn just bought a song. Didn’t listen to it on last.fm though.

To many ass’s in house to have music up, hear ass’s slamming doors. They should of delivered air port express before ass’s were here. Wonder how much a studio apartment is, wait I’d get kicked out. Better off getting a tent, and an extension cord, and camping in somebody’s back yard.

Bought Airport Express

July 15th, 2009 admin Comments off

Bough a airport express from amazon, shouldn’t be as loud as MSI Nettop 100. Should sell MSI Nettop 100, will keep the hard drive if I do that though. It was only $107 with one day shipping, amazon prime is nice. Could use it for wireless too, then sell trendnet wireless N router, already have linksys router running dd-wrt, keeping that, it is only wireless G though. Guess it could act as a wireless bridge, but going to hook it up to receiver for music.

Buddy has arthritis, infection, and possibly cancer

July 11th, 2009 admin Comments off

Mom took dog to Vet today, yesterday his hips were hurting. She also told em he has been puking, which could possibly mean he has cancer I guess. But there’s no way to know, I guess according to them. The infection is probably is ears. He has to go back in a week, for more blood work. It cost $224, I just sent my mom $124, I paid half. They also said he is really old.

Got google voice finally!

July 9th, 2009 admin Comments off

Google finally sent me invite to google voice! You can send text messages with it too, which is cool. Still messing with it, so not much to say yet.

Update
I love t-mobile and myfaves.. Found this blog post on google. Instead of showing caller’s phone number, show your google voice number, and add google voice number to myfaves.. and then you get unlimited calling! Thanks google and t-mobile, hopefully it still works.

I need internet plan, so I can use the mobile interface, if I ever leave house…

Hmm wonder if they delete barely used accounts… I use the SMS somewhat, not very much though.

Some of A Small Orange servers were compromised

July 9th, 2009 admin Comments off

Dear ASO Customer,

Last night, several of our hosting servers were compromised and a number of customer accounts were deleted. While not all customers are affected, we feel that all customers should be aware of the incident.

The attack happened through a compromised password/computer used by one of the techs to access/support/maintain servers. We’ve disabled access from that computer and account until we can investigate the matter thoroughly.

The servers affected were server names starting with the letters A through D. We’ve posted a notice on our customer forums and will update it with more information:

http://forums.asmallorange.com/index.php?showtopic=12908

If your server isn’t listed, your site wasn’t affected by this.
If you don’t know the server your site is hosted on, you can use our server lookup tool:

http://www.asmallorange.com/extras/server.php

Based on the log data, it does not appear that customer password files were downloaded or accessed, or that any data was transferred. Instead, the attacker simply deleted the customer accounts, and on some servers, critical system files. If you account is on a server that was attacked, we recommend changing your passwords as soon as you have access to your site again.

Our overnight and morning teams have been restoring data, but this is a slow process. For customers affected, please be patient as we work to get through this problem. We understand that many of you host sites for your clients and many of you run your website as a business. Our support team is working as hard as they can to get the data back online as soon as possible.

Once this is behind us, we will be reviewing many of the security systems currently in place and start building improvements. We certainly don’t want an incident like this to happen again. We sincerely regret that this happened, and apologize to all customers who were affected by this.

Thanks for being our customer, and we appreciate your patience as we work to get this resolved.

Email I got from them.

WARNING: During a short period of time during the attack, your site may have been redirected to a malware page promoting a “Web Accelerator” program. This file contains a virus identified as “Backdoor.Win32.VanBot!IK.” Though the exposure time was very short, (less than 30 minutes) there is a possibility that users may have downloaded it. I would suggest informing your users of this and recommend that they run a virus scan and take measures to ensure their system is clean if they happened to download it.

That is on the forum post page, the server my site is on, wasn’t affected.

Oh yeah and by the forum post it says the tech’s computer had a virus, probably the same one. Stupid tech using windows, use linux or something. To improve the security, they could roll their own minimal linux distro, that could be run using virtual box, or vmware player, or parallels, or any other virtual machine program.

Making a full backup of my site so I can download it, cpanel lets you make full backups. Puts everything in a compressed file, so you don’t have to manually download everything.

Already get weekly mysql database backups using Wordpress Database Backup.

Amazon Kindle only $299

July 9th, 2009 admin Comments off

Looks like amazon lowered the price of the Kindle to $299, I don’t need one. I have the kindle app on my iPod touch. I would rather buy a 16 GB iPod touch for a little under $299.

Bought battery and 8 GB SDHC card for camera

July 8th, 2009 admin Comments off

Bought some cheap ass Lenmar DLC4L battery for my camera, 10 bucks compared to 40 bucks. Also bought Transcend 8 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card. Should get it on the 10th, if they ship it today and its from Seattle, then I’ll get it tomorrow probably. If the cheap ass battery I bought works good, then I’ll probably buy another one or two or three.

I took a video inside, but it doesn’t look very good. Maybe its just my room, where I was taking the video there isn’t a lot of light. If I took video by my computer it might be better looking.

Hmm so MSI Nettop 100 is 64bit capable?

July 5th, 2009 admin 4 comments

The MSI Nettop 100 has an intel atom 330 processor, searched google for “is intel atom 330 64 bit”, and a forum said that if “cat /proc/cpuinfo” has the Lm flag, then it does 64bit. Now downloading xubuntu 64 bit version to see if it works. Intel’s site says it is 64 bit too.

Output of cat /proc/cpuinfo below.

Bought USB Wireless Lan 802.11N from monoprice

July 2nd, 2009 admin Comments off

The USB adapter I have from newertech, seems to be causing my mac to freeze up. Not using their driver though (can’t remember why I switched), using official ralink driver. Not sure if its the driver or the card, or both. The one on monoprice comes with a driver CD, says it works with OS X, so maybe it has driver on CD, or website to download driver from, don’t see it on their site. Not going to switch back to the newertech driver, pretty sure it was unstable, and its outdated. Don’t think I’ll buy anything from newertech again, I paid around 40 bucks for the USB adapter from newertech.

Back to safari

I guess I like speed more then a stable browser. Firefox 3.5 didn’t crash, but it is noticeably slower then Safari 4, at least for me.

I want to get paid to surf the internet and reply to stuff

July 1st, 2009 admin Comments off

Seems like some of my recent posts got replies by customer service or somebody that works at the company mentioned. Somebody should pay me to sit on my bum and browse the internet and respond to stuff all day. I already sit on my bum all day.

Or if no one wants to hire me, maybe I’ll just continue mentioning different companies and getting replies from them, it is kind of entertaining. I can make a post full of shit, like last post, cause I have a bad memory. Then they might reply. Now I don’t need to use customer service for anything either, I can just post on my blog, it seems to work pretty good.

Or maybe somebody will pay me to not mention their company, that would work too.

Bought Canon PowerShot SD780 IS

July 1st, 2009 admin Comments off

Bought Canon PowerShot SD780 IS directly from amazon.com. Should get it by the 7th. If it doesn’t work or something I can easily return to amazon, the reason I bought directly from amazon. This camera might take better video then my flip video, it isn’t the new HD one… Should probably sell old camera’s and maybe flip video. To lazy rather just keep everything. Need a camera from every brand anyways.

Maybe I should buy a Eye-Fi SD card

July 1st, 2009 admin 2 comments

Its a pain taking SD card out of camera plugging it into SD card reader, then copying all the files… Could use USB cable, but that’s a pain too, wireless is way easier, not sure though if 50 or 60 bucks for 2 GB is worth it. I’d have to start taking more pictures if I bought one, well maybe I would take pics, if I had one…
