South Park

I wonder if South Park will have any new episodes again. Don’t really need Philo then. Too lazy to find something else to watch. Don’t want to watch any of the other saved stuff enough to watch it.

Have five more episodes of Family Guy to watch, recorded OTA.

$25+ a month to watch one show, probably not worth it.

I need the money for diapers anyways. Too lazy to run to bathroom all day long, to barely shit.

Genaray Powerbank 64 Pocket LED Light

Came with the cold shoe adapter to use with my Insta360 x4. The other cold shoe adapter I have, isn’t very useful. Just a basic adapter, fine for a camera cage. But not the case for this camera.

Bought that light long ago. Only bad thing is, the battery dies, if it’s not used for a long time.

Also, can’t be charged with my Anker USB C to C cable 240w. At least not with the Belkin charger. Just used the cable it came with, and plugged into a different charger, since the provided cable is USB A. Should have tried using the Anker cable with the other charger. Maybe that Belkin charger is a dick, or dead.

The fancy adapter with ball head, might only be removable from the Insta360 x4, if I take the case off. It’s nice and tight. I’ll just leave it on.

Tauon

Looks like that can generate music playlists. Too lazy to manually look for music. Or think.

Might as well get rid of MPD, cause it has to be restarted after rebooting the Atari VCS. Probably because it’s slow at getting an IP address. And don’t need it to play audio anyways. Pipewire works fine.

I installed the Flatpak.

Cat reminded me to spray the chair again.

Search for the genre, I searched for rock. All I needed to do, to make a playlist. Don’t think I need Last.fm, my old account is gone, apparently. Made a new one. No idea what Last.fm is though. I guess if it helps me find more music, then it’s fine.

Now I don’t have to just listen to radio.

To make the playlist playable in VLC on an iPhone, only one command is needed.

sed -iold 's|/media/big_nas|..|g' "$1"

Tauon

Wake on lan works

The Arch Wiki said how to turn it on. I thought cause ethtool said d, it meant I couldn’t enable it. Enabled it last night, and just used it now.

No more relying on shitty universal remote with Bluetooth, to wake it up using Bluetooth. Only problem, I have to get off my ass, to turn on the receiver.

Could fix that, with one of those WiFi IR things. But too expensive to use just for that. I like the buttons on real remote for most of the stuff I do.

ARCTIC 4-Pin PWM Fan Splitter Cable

That might solve my loud ass fan problem. Bought the wrong thing a long time ago. I don’t want a fan controller. Case might have one. Or not for 4 pin fans. Well, too lazy to mess with case, so get a 4 port splitter cable.

The fan is a Noctua NF-A14, and their low noise adapter, doesn’t work for that fan. A waste of money.

Did the radio say “bong”. Don’t know what a bong is, but I do know what a dong is. Also might have said something about getting “high”. Do they mean manic? Well, no thanks.

What exactly is this fan doing being loud as fuck 24/7? Except being loud? Not much. The AMD 5600X runs hot, as mine always has. I’ll get the dust out, once I get that cable.

Might need a can of air though. The mostly empty can or cans, got thrown out. They might sell that in town somewhere. Probably not Best Buy though. Go there to look for something, and leave with nothing.

Hmm, so unbranded thermal paste is fine? People on Reddit say cheap stuff is fine, but do they mean no brand? They say 3C difference. Slightly more then 3C, but too lazy to do math.

Where is my old ass thermal paste? Might all be dried up. Should throw it away. They don’t say the budget brands. Probably not Cooler Master, cheap, but some people got dried up thermal paste on Newegg that was Cooler Master. Didn’t know anybody sold useless branded thermal paste. I do know, Cooler Master PSUs don’t last. Or the one I bought, and the one my sister bought, both failed.

Haha, the comments claim, the budget stuff won’t last a year. I wonder what thermal paste I used, and when I put it on. How many years ago?

Somebody said Thermal Pads work fine. Well, then I don’t have to guess how much to put on the damn thing. Said no thicker then 1mm.

SSDs use em, so why not? NVMe SSDs, can run hot as fuck.

Do they sell Thermal Pads I don’t have to cut? Also, what happens if I don’t cut it? And let it hang off the CPU. Also, does the thermal paste actually need to be replaced? Also, why would I need to delid the CPU? I don’t overclock anything.

Is Thermal Grizzly the cheapest “brand” that makes pads?

Adafruit is on Nudegg apparently. Now to go to their site.

Heat Sink Thermal Sticker Tabs is that a thermal pad? Pretty much, but over 1mm might be too much for a desktop CPU. They work fine for SBCs, so why not a desktop? Well, SBCs might use less power then my 5600X.

They don’t have the right one anyways.

Thermal Grizzly, lots of options. The basic one, $20, no thanks. Hmm chair is rocking, cat may have been thinking about scratching, but didn’t hear anything. So Pet Block might work. And now she’s licking her foot. Well, I don’t think she likes Pet Block either.

What CPUs does the Thermal Grizzly - PhaseSheet PTM fit? Hmm, cat found something, maybe an old piece of filament. Got to throw that away, so she doesn’t eat it possibly. Vet said cats might decide to eat string, maybe filament too. Not filament. No idea what it came from. The scratcher maybe, that she doesn’t scratch on. Maybe that’s why she looks under it. Well, I need to vacuum better next time. Also, what is under the fan? She really wants it. Looks like paper maybe.

It’s the tag on the fan. She does like chewing on plastic. She hasn’t been messing with the bag on garbage can lately. But if she starts eating it, I need a new garbage can.

Thermal Grizzly looks like a premium brand. Also, do I have to cut that?

Regular thermal paste, somebody said dries out. Well, if that doesn’t, it’s a bargain. Also, I think the comment said no thicker then 1mm. So 0.25mm or whatever might be fine.

Got to cut it, and need “tweezers”. Oh wait, might have some, had em for 3D printer. Put in fridge for two hours, then cut.

To remove cooler, use hair dryer. But why? I can replace the fans. Have a half ass 3D printed clip thing, seems to work just fine, it’s been holding the fans on for a long time.

$14 worth it to me, cause I may not need to replace it again. And wonder if I applied the right amount. Or if I need to redo the damn paste.

Not $14 on eBay. No prime, and too lazy to send my mom money. And ask her to buy it. Don’t want to pay VAT. Apparently they sell it on Best Buy. So they ship from US then if I buy on Best Buy’s site? Says free shipping.

Should be in bed, but got to drink enough water everyday. Did I drink enough water yet? Well, haven’t pissed myself yet.

Some seller on Newegg, but shipped by Newegg. $14, and Newegg probably ships from California, so might not take too long. I guess I use scissors to cut it to size, won’t be easy. Easier to use a knife of some kind. Does a steak knife work? Don’t have or want a safety knife. Not very safe. Or is it a utility knife? Not safe either.

Newegg might be the fastest, and cheapest. Amazon too expensive, would have to pay shipping or for prime. No thanks to giving Amazon money for shipping or prime.

Pet Block spray

Does it work for cats? No idea. But it works for me. I had my sweater over the back of the chair, sprayed the crap out of chair, and now I don’t think I’ll put sweater back over it. Back of chair not very pretty.

The $700 5 or so year old recliner, is a squeaky rocking chair now. Put the foot rest out, and enjoy rocking and listening to it.

She keeps looking over there at chair. She jumped in chair once. The question is, will she scratch the part of chair I didn’t spray? Maybe not, as she didn’t even stay in chair.

She has a cat scratcher right by the chair. But she won’t use it. Not even when it was in kitchen. Sprayed it with cat nip spray too, more then once. Don’t think she cares that much about cat nip. She smelled it. But didn’t go crazy like a lot of cats. Gave her real cat nip once too. Now to move the cat scratcher. cause now it’s too close to smelly Pet Block stuff.

But she has to go over there, cause of the smell. She’s curious.

Mop the floor, and she rubs on it. Good reason not to spray the crap out of chair. If she rubs on that crap, she will be smelly too. I already do say that to her though, even though I can’t smell her. I’m probably more smelly. I use toilet paper after all.

Got to replace that chair someday. First I have to get rid of stuff, like the crap not being used. And should figure out how to get her to not scratch on the damn thing so much. I don’t want to constantly tell her not to. Or maybe not tell her not to at all. Other then spraying it.

How wet should a recliner get? Well, I don’t like it anyways.

Hmm, that’s how you get some cats to scratch on something else? Spray the crap out of chair. And move scratcher away from it. If that works, then cats aren’t that hard to train. Use Pet Block. She was just looking at the scratcher she still hasn’t used. Maybe she’s not sure how to scratch on it.

Maybe get a vertical scratcher. Then she has the ball one on floor, and one she can scratch vertically as well. This one isn’t completely flat, but not completely vertical either.

She might be scratching more on the chair, then the scratcher with a ball as well. And I just changed the cardboard on that one. Or maybe I’m just noticing her scratching the chair more. The other one, is in the other room. She didn’t always scratch on the chair. She had to live here long enough, and get older maybe. She’s still young enough to train though.

I might know how to pet a cat finally. Pet them a little, then take a break. Don’t just pet them constantly. Not all dogs like that either. And if they do, I get tired. Just ask Utah. He doesn’t always want that though.

Library eBooks

Looks like the one book I found so far, requires a 3 week wait. Have to apparently hold an eBook.

Good news, I found the book on the lady’s website. Apparently that book is from 1971. Thought it was newer then that for some unknown reason. Probably found it on a store’s site, and said 2011. Not the original one.

The DRM removal plugin still works, at least for the old eBook that I had on my Kindle, that I apparently didn’t remove the DRM on.

There’s a bunch of odd books on my Kindle.

The only book I already had, that I might read is “The Naked Bible”.

Some Atheists might like that book too. My religion is “we’re all going to be okay”.

My Kindle still has ads. No I won’t pay them any money to remove the ads. Also, what ads? I don’t pay any attention to the lock screen. Also, I like airplane mode.

First two DRM eBooks bought

Bought directly from Gwen Cooper. I remembered I bought a book once, directly from the author, and they sent me a PDF. I was a happy camper. There’s DRM free eBook stores, but might not be able to find what you’re looking for. I won’t buy DRM books.

Amazon likely will never sell DRM books. Why would they? Too much money, to keep DRM. They can release an update to all internet connected Kindle’s, and make a bunch or all the books on it, unreadable. Good reason to keep Kindle in airplane mode. Oh wait, the library has eBooks. Might be easier to put it on Kindle, if it’s connected to internet.

Didn’t need the BookFunnel app either. Downloaded the ePub from a web browser in Linux. I can view it in Calibre just fine. Waiting for shitty Kindle to charge.

DRM can or used to be removable from Amazon’s eBooks. But now I can’t download the eBook from a browser. Too much work. Easier to buy a proper book.

Oddly the radio station I listen to started working today finally. Thought it was rtl_tcp, SDR++ couldn’t get a good signal either, wasn’t all static though.

Steam controller sure is nice

Want to control a Linux computer connected to a TV? Well, it might only work if you install Steam. Otherwise, unpairing it and repairing it, is what you’ll get to do.

If I want to play a game, I can stream it using Moonlight.

The good news is, I have a keyboard with a touchpad on it, that I could use. Even though I bought it for the Pi 5.

I wasn’t having any luck using it with the USB dongle either. And if Debian is too old, well the Steam Controller is ancient too.

Was trying to use the Apple TV. But to download a free app, they require me to confirm it. No iPhone? Then you’d have to enter the password with the remote. Almost had to copy and paste the password on the iPhone, cause iOS has a lot of “features”. And the Library streaming video app, isn’t easy to use on the Apple TV, can’t search using the remote app on my phone. Not manually entering text anywhere on the Apple TV.

Want to go into medical debt? Go to the right hospital, and stay there for 16 days, or however long I was there. If I get a bill, I won’t have enough money to pay them.

Wondering how much money 16 days or so costs in the hospital? Over $40,000.

Faster my USB flash drive

Average writing speed: 164.33 MB/s

The cheap M.2 SATA SSD in a USB enclosure is faster. Big surprise.

The brand is Fanxiang. I tried canceling it, but they blamed the people that ship it in the US. Somehow I’m supposed to be able to refuse a USPS package.

Would have been cheaper to buy a NVMe drive, and put in my extra enclosure. Extra enclosure doesn’t do SATA.

Maybe M.2 SATA isn’t as hot. Don’t care about speed.

Using a USB C to A cable, connected to front USB 3 port. No idea which USB 3 version. Maybe 3.0.

Running f3read now. Have to make sure the drive has as much space as they said.

Average reading speed: 198.08 MB/s

amFilm

The best part of those screen protectors, is they come with a tool for getting rid of bubbles. I’d recommend leaving that out, so you can work at those bubbles.

Easy to install? Maybe easier. But not idiot proof. Also, too tired, to follow the instructions to a T.

Can’t see the remaining bubles with screen on.

But it has the damn rainbow, on the bottom edge. The old shitty possibly Best Buy screen protector had it on the screen part. No rainbow anywhere except bottom edge. Just open Safari.

Use the other dust cover on the case. Not very effective, the wet wipe works better. And the dry wipe just got more dust on the case.

It did come with a lens protector, somehow no bubbles. I wiped lens off with the wet wipe, probably dried it with the dry wipe. But I couldn’t get all the dust on the edge of the lenses. I tried using one of the little dust stickers. Maybe a wetter wipe would have worked.

But I need the other wet wipe, for the other protector, if I ever use it. Can’t take this off and test my luck with the second one, that’s a waste of money. Also, I may have wasted all the protectors in the past, and just threw money away.

Either use a dust free lab. Or a machine, if you want no bubbles.

Didn’t want to spend more money on the other brand, some site claims has a better installer tool. Glad I didn’t, cause I’d most likely get bubbles with that one too.

The screen does look better though. Apparently that Best Buy one, may have made the display look worse.

The appliance is not to be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction.

Hmm, guess I shouldn’t have bought this refurbished vacuum cleaner.

Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children, pets or plants.

Tell that to the people, that went to doctor, for experimenting with a vacuum cleaner.

Well, the battery is removable. Don’t ask me if the battery can actually be bought though. Maybe a third party one at least.

Might need to print the manual. Didn’t come with one, said Americans or somebody, uses too much paper. Sounds like I should print it then. Also, easier to look at paper.

And only one bubble now. Just wait a while, then use the fancy bubble remover. Then if it comes back, keep on trying, over, and over again. Also, dust on the screen protector, isn’t a bubble.

So these screen protectors are so good, they can be installed in a very dusty environment.

Ahh well, the rainbow on the bottom, is better then random spots all over the screen.

Rainbow, might be cause I misaligned it. Part of the bottom of screen, not covered.

To get rid of rainbow on edge, just point phone somewhere else. The light hitting it a certain way does it.

But aren’t you supposed to just put the alignment tool on top of the phone basically? Might have said something about sliding. No idea what it was talking about though.

Safari

Want to fix your website for Safari in iOS? Well, you most likely need Safari. Cause it looks fine in LibreWolf, when inspecting and changing the resolution.

Set the resolution to match phone in the inspect thing. Still looks fine. Another trick, is to disconnect from WiFi. And another is to reboot it. I already cleared all the website data.

Good news, I just had to disconnect from WiFi, load site on mobile network, then connect back to WiFi.

No need to install spyware with Wine.

On another note, my Mac mini is only worth $10, according to Best Buy. macOS and only 8 GB of RAM, isn’t very useful. But if I get rid of it, I’ll donate it or something.

Subwoofer works finally

It’s a Dayton Audio CS800 8" 150W Powered Subwoofer Wood, not the cheapest or most expensive subwoofer.

Got it working with Apple TV first, plugged Apple TV directly into receiver. Then I disabled ARC on receiver, and changed the input source volume to 12 DB. Turning the volume up, could have made it work too. Apple TV isn’t very loud apparently.

And nothing needs to be done in Linux, to get subwoofer working. That was a lot of time wasted.

The volume of it isn’t too much. Even if turned all the way up. Probably depends what I’m listening to. And lots of settings can be changed. Don’t want it super loud anyways.

The WordPress theme I bought for the dog’s website, requires the Unyson+ plugin, or I can’t even view a post. I could modify the theme even more, so it doesn’t. Not really worth what I paid, for that reason. It’s static right now, online. Using a ton of WordPress plugins, not a good idea. Apparently a bunch of WordPress plugin developers don’t consider security.

Unyson+ isn’t on WordPress.org, it’s the new fork that’s supposed to be better.

Hmm, think I’ll just modify the theme some more. That’s why it’s a rip off, they don’t update the theme.

Should have read the page before buying it, not just looking at it. A regular HTML theme, would have probably been cheaper.

For single.php, just remove “? fw_ext_sidebars_get_current_position() : ‘full’”.

Now I get to lookup WordPress docs. Cause the header is broken, without that plugin, and I want my header back.

Oh it does look the same now, if I inspect the page, it changes the header image.

Breadcrumbs, and then the theme will mostly work. I’ll use a plugin for that, cause I’m lazy.

And the theme is mostly done. Lots of code I could probably remove though. But I didn’t buy the theme, to do a ton of work.

Had to change the level on subwoofer to match speakers, 7 DB. Wasn’t doing anything again. Then I had to turn the volume down to halfway, cause some songs are louder. Best to keep it halfway probably, and then adjust volume on receiver.

And then turn volume down too much. Might have to change the volume to less then halfway on subwoofer.

I like to leave receiver @ 25 volume, and adjust with software.

Turned it from auto to on, cause auto just turns off apparently. So it’s a timer? Not what I want. Go look at subwoofer, light is red, and touch it, and no noise.

Allergies

I forgot about my all year seasonal allergies.

Got home, and my breathing got better. Two air purifiers in the living room. Maybe I do need the one in bedroom. But I moved it off table, to put the sunrise sleep thing on the table. Knuckle on left hand started itching too, sometime at my mom’s.

Good solution, don’t go anywhere.

Apparently the anxiety as needed medicine I have, helps allergies. I took it earlier, could have taken it again before leaving. Doctor said to pick one of the as needed meds. Haven’t bothered trying the other one, which is an anti psychotic, and probably does nothing for allergies.

I like breathing, so I pick the anxiety medicine.

All I know for allergies, is the allergy over the counter stuff, and the nose spray. And this anxiety medicine, I probably can’t take forever. Bummer. Is it sleep apnea, if allergies causes it? That other air purifier, probably needs a new filter. And it would work better on a higher setting. Cat didn’t like it blowing harder.

Hmm cat is by the garbage can. That reminded me, she likes chewing on garbage bags. And she can get the garbage bag on that can. If I see her doing it, I should put the can in the bathroom. And then get a different garbage can. As if she eats plastic, that might not be good.

Just reminded myself to go look at the scratcher thing she used to use, mom said it needs to be replaced. I never even looked at it yet.

Mom wasn’t kidding, it was completely shredded. That’s the only cat scratcher I have, that she likes. The one my mom bought in the kitchen, I’ve never seen her use. The one on her condo, never seen or heard her use. She likes the recliner, that I don’t like though. But wasn’t really messing with it more so then before I went to hospital. Kind of sucks, she only likes that one scratcher, cause it’s cardboard.

She will probably get cardboard in her water soon. I switched to a regular steel dish for her water, cause I couldn’t clean the other dish I had. It was steel too, but I didn’t clean it properly, and crap got stuck on it. And it’s easier to dump out a dish without the tank on it. Why use a tank one, if she likes fresh water? I think my mom filled both of her steel dishes up with water, when I wasn’t here. She had/has plenty of water.

Can’t figure out that cats eat and drink less then dogs. At least bigger dogs.

Hospital might not be a great place to go, if somebody has allergies.

I thought my sense of smell was coming back. Well, it might be better sometimes. Might be related to anxiety medicine.

Add that to my list of things to tell doctor.

Probably the cheapest sleep sunrise thing is $25, the iHome one. Might be an old model. Better then $180 or whatever for the Philips one. And better then the Hatch one, that needs a subscription to use it all.

Also, how many dumps a day am I supposed to take? Took four so far today.

Cool, the photos I wanted to share with family, finally uploaded to MEGA. It’s uploading all my photos, not just the recent ones I took.

Need more water. Also, why am I hungry? Eating is annoying.

Middle aged also means, I can’t hold piss in as long. Or shit. Maybe seamen though. Well, might not have any seamen anymore. What do I need that for? I don’t know how middle aged people have sex. Cause my back hurts. Other pain throughout my body too. Mostly just my back today.

I remembered what Bokeh is. I had the lens set to f1.4. Those are softer, but it’s @ f1.4. That 30mm Sigma lens is my main lens. I have a lower focal length lens on the other camera. Panasonic is the main one now. Problem is, I haven’t used it much, and it has a lot of buttons.

XP-Pen 13.3 inch PenDisplay

That’s what lsusb says it is. Had to change my GRUB config, cause I had a fake HDMI display setup. After rebooting, I was able to rotate the drawing tablet.

It’s the Artist 13.3 Pro. Not sure why I bought it, cause I forgot how to draw. Only knew how to draw for a while while in the hospital.

The pressure sensitivity works though. And the pen is really thick. Might be easier to hold onto, then a skinny one. Might also, make my hand hurt. Came with a fancy glove.

And the instruction manual appears to be mostly useless. Barely any info in it. Guess I didn’t need one of the power adapter.

Can use it as a touch screen too.

I’m sure I can find a use for it, without drawing with it. Kind of cool, having a touch screen for my desktop, and Linux.

Instead of drawing, how about scribbling. I noticed if I think too much about what to draw, then I can’t draw it. Noticed that in the hospital.

OpenDrive

Not recommended. If you want to share photos and/or videos you take.

Signed up for 500 GB plan for $6. And it’s too much of a hassle to use.

To share folders with files in it if using Linux, I’d have to manually change the file properties in a web browser. Can change the permissions with WebDAV, but not the file access option. Want to change it to hidden? One at a time in a browser.

People claim it can be done with Windows.

The permissions said 644 for all the files, including the one I shared. Also, the iOS app can’t auto backup photos.

Too much of a hassle to use it, so not worth paying for again.

Canceled PayPal subscription, and deleted my account using the iOS app.

Guess if using Linux, MEGA is the only option. There’s pCloud, but that’s super cheap, and who knows when it’ll stop working.

Also, downloading from OpenDrive is slow.

Self hosting with a 10 Mbps or less upload speed, not a good option.

And according to one Reddit comment two years ago, pCloud terminates accounts, claiming copyright infringement. People who it happened to claimed family photos. Hard to say who’s telling the truth. But pCloud is super cheap, if you get a lifetime plan. MEGA it is, a little under $6 a month, for 750 GB.

I used it, without any issues. If I store anything sensitive, I can encrypt it myself.

Looks like it works with rclone as well, no need for their software in Linux.

It’s in Euros, just like two other providers I looked at. Well, probably got the nice foreign transaction fee then.

Too lazy to use a VPS and host my own thing, also dedicated server would be more private. But not private enough, need it in my apartment. Also, Comcast likes crapping out, and more likely, if I’m uploading. Just downloading can too. Maybe doing both would be even more likely. Or maybe the modem I bought fixed that. The last modem they gave me, started crapping out too. Was only using their modem, because of the free internet, they claimed I had to use their modem to qualify.

No more free internet, and too lazy to return modems over and over again.

I was going to setup syncthing, to send photos from phone to device on network. But the app, said not for backing up data. So decided not to use it. Even though it has some feature of backing up photos.

immich not a great option, if wanting to use Podman, and a version before 5.0. Armbian doesn’t have 5.0. I did compile it on the Orange Pi 5 though. But not doing that on Pi. Wonder how outdated that is now on the Orange Pi.

Clogged my own crapper

Apparently my crapper can’t take much toilet paper either. After leaving hospital, I clogged my mom’s crapper up first.

Well, the other person that uses that crapper at my mom’s, uses four squares only. But I think it would be easier to use my bare hand, then a square of toilet paper.

Got a removable shower head, that can help clean it up too.

Also, good thing I’m wearing glasses to the bathroom now. Cause, I might not see shit on crapper seat without them on.

One of the kids, left shit on the crapper seat at my mom’s. And then if somebody puts the lid down, it smears it. I wonder, did I do that too, when I was a kid? I did get blood on the crapper seat once.

Well, I went to use the crapper at her house today, and a bunch of people were over there, and didn’t even look at seat before sitting down. Never checked my ass, so no idea if I sat in anything.

Well, I only need a yellow ball sack net, for the toilets at medical places. My crapper not the same, and neither is my mom’s. That reminds me, I could have peed in a “hat”, instead of a cup. Who’s hat? Somebody told me some story about somebody peeing in somebody’s boots once.

I haven’t gotten the privilege to pee in boots, nor a hat.

Also, aren’t Wasabi camera batteries supposed to swell up? Camera wouldn’t turn on, and Wasabi battery came out no problem. Put other battery in, and camera turned on. Wasabi battery is charging now. The used camera came with a Wasabi battery and charger.

I bought a Jupio battery. Are those made in Japan? Maybe. But Wasabi actually is charging. Some rechargeable AA and AAA batteries, that died completely, couldn’t recharge.

The Wasabi charger seems cheap, but it works. Not sure any of the chargers on B&H are really that much better. They all look sort of the same.

What about Green Extreme? $50 for two batteries + charger. Not the cheapest. Wasabi might be cheaper. But rather have one Jupio and another charger. Which might cost about the same, depending on the charger.

Nice charger for my Olympus camera, but don’t think I can get a plate to charge a Panasonic battery.

NetBird not very useful

Not on iOS, VPN On Demand, doesn’t work. Have to sign up for beta to even get it. Jetbird works on Android.

Well, that Moto phone, is complete crap, so no thanks. Custom ROM on it means no incoming calls. No custom ROM, and it’s complete crap.

Not wasting time looking for a third party NetBird client for iOS. The iOS app store is junk, just like Apple, Google, Microsoft, and so on.

Can’t even get a working browser in iOS. Would have to live in Europe.

Updating it to the newest version was a big mistake. The big update is complete crap.

I wonder, can I go back to whatever I had? Probably not.

This iPhone 15 might be worth over $200, that’s enough for a shitty ass refurbished Google Pixel phone on Backmarket. Sounds like a lot of work though. So not really worth it.

Setting up my own VPN on a server of some kind, would be less work. Assuming the WireGuard client works.

This is what everybody gets when companies only care about money. A bunch of useless junk.

And all iOS 18 versions no longer signed. Why would I ever buy any Apple product if they can’t even make working software?

Screen protector has a nice rainbow effect too. But phone is junk, so no point in doing anything about that.

Apparently ntfy app in iOS is useless as well. Text only. Have to use the web app, and configure it right. Well, too much work. I’ll enjoy the broken VPN.

And openSUSE Tumbleweed froze on laptop

That didn’t take long. Maybe the drive is bad. Cause I was restoring data. Tried opening Local-WP in Distrobox too. Maybe Distrobox also freezes it. But not on desktop. Drive is too small. Cause I hoard files.

And probably restic caused it to freeze. Or me, for restoring incorrectly.

Need to delete everything in folder again. First to –dry-run restic, to make sure the exclude options work. Might need a -v option too.

And then I’ll need to delete everything in home folder again.

Nothing CMF Watch Pro 2

No notifications with iOS anymore. I did update my phone.

Still the best watch I’ve had. Like the round big screen. Just use it for time then, since Apple is a dick. If I lived in Europe, the watch could work better.

Worked fine with Gadgetbridge and old firmware on Android.

Well, guess I can’t switch to Boost Mobile. Says something went wrong when trying to order it.
